Surely one of the most talked about cafes we’ve worked on, Candy has immediately hit the top of the favourites list on the cool cafe scene of Cairns.
The collaboration with Carlton was a joy, playfully creating an adult version of childhood memories into an enveloping backdrop for a creative menu of comfort food. Combining artificial topiary hedges with custom murals of classic images from old primary school readers, this is a funky space for adults and families alike.
Most patrons will never realise how much of the previous restaurant remains underneath the ‘skin’ of the Candy fitout. This project is a powerful demonstration of how to transform an existing space into an entirely new personality.
